    NEW HSA INFORMATION:

IRS reinstates the 2018 HSA Family Maximum from $6,850 back to $6,900

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced that those with family coverage under a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) who contribute to a Health Savings Account (HSA) may treat $6,900 as the maximum deductible HSA contribution.  Earlier this year on March 5, 2018, the IRS announced a change in the inflation adjustment calculations for 2018 (under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act) which reduced the original 2018 maximum deductible of $6,900 by $50 to $6,850. Their announcement puts the 2018 maximum back to $6,900.
