Letter from the Principal

Welcome Back RHE Eagles!
This summer is flying by and in just a few short weeks we are going to be together again. We have so many fun activities planned for this year…all of the great traditions and a few new surprises! We also have lots of new teachers joining us this year. Help us welcome them!
Kindergarten
Regan Smith is joining us as a new third kindergarten teacher as our classes are going all day. She is very excited to teach kinders and be at RHE! Fun fact, she is sister to our new SpEd teacher Taelor Smith!
Second Grade
Annie Rowlan is joining us as an enthusiastic first year teacher as well. She is excited to meet her students, and like me, can’t wait for school to begin!
Third Grade
We are adding a fourth teacher to third grade as well! RHE is getting big! We are welcoming Cory Call to the team and she will be in the portables. We have converted the music room to her classroom this year. Fun fact, she is Mrs. Hansen’s (our computer specialist) mom!
Fifth Grade
Jayson Curtis is joining us to replace Angie Robins (she is now one of the CCSD instructional coaches). Jayson taught for Cache for ten years before moving to Saint George for the past seven. His family moved back this summer and he is very excited to work back in Cache and at RHE with the fifth grade team.
Special Education
Taelor Smith is joining us in her first year as a teacher, but she is familiar with RHE as she did her student teaching here with Suzy Sanders. Suzy retired this May and Taelor is taking her place with Jenny Mcdonald and they are already shaping up to be a fantastic team.
Kiersten Holt is our new speech and language pathologist as Bobbie Liechty has moved up to USU to help train new pathologists. We welcome her to the RHE family!
Monica Malmgren is going to be our new Preschool SLP and is joining us just from across the valley as she is already a member of the CCSD team. We hear great things and are excited to welcome her as well.
Specials and Support
Stephanie Ashcroft, a member of the RHE team and River Heights community, will be moving over to the teaching side of things this year as our new Music Specialist. She already has some great ideas on how she will make music mobile this year and visit the classrooms on a cart!
We have a new Lunch Manager Angela Palmer, as our fantastic Jan Cardon retired this summer. Like Monica, Angela is already a member of the Cache family so we just got to steal her greatness from another school.
We look forward to seeing you all at Back to School Night on Tuesday, August 20th, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and then bright and early on Thursday, August 22nd for the first day of school!
Enjoy your last few weeks of summer and we will see you soon!
Ms. Stacie Williamson
