Nationally recognized Spanish storyteller visits Heritage Elementary
On October 13th, students in Heritage Elementary’s Spanish Dual Language Immersion program were treated to a visit by storyteller Barry Stewart Mann. Mr. Mann delighted students with his interactive storytelling, pictures and videos of Latin American children, and charming títeres (finger puppets). The classroom visits, which were conducted completely in Spanish, gave students the opportunity to learn about other cultures in a fun, engaging way, while utilizing and reinforcing their Spanish language skills.
Mr. Mann, who lives in Atlanta but travels the country to teach and perform, was once honored with the National Storyteller of the Year award. He was brought to Cache County with a grant from the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program.
