3,2,1, Blast Off--Clark Planetarium visits Providence Elementary
Last week, students at Providence Elementary participated in an exciting, interactive assembly presented by the Clark Planetarium. The Clark Planetarium is an exhibit in Salt Lake City that celebrates the importance of science and our universe through unique, hands-on displays and thrilling IMAX movies. 6th grade teacher, Shaylee Joyner, teamed up with the Planetarium to bring this scientific phenomenon here, to Cache Valley.
Students had the opportunity to learn about science through everyday objects like leaf blowers, water bottles, bike pumps, and pencils. Enthusiastically, Providence students passed around meteorites and took turns participating in the various science experiments. “It was engaging, interactive, and fun. Science is all around us!” said Providence Elementary's principal, Trudy Wilson, who hopes that this experience will remind her students why science is important. Later in the day, 6th grade students had the chance to team up for small group sessions, where they learned more about technology in the solar system.
